'scale draw profile to average daily usage' in SAM solar water heating model

Hi, in SAM solar water heating model how does 'scale draw profile to average daily usage' option work? If I write '500 kg/day' does it divide 500 by 24 to obtain per hour of water usage? or it follows any certain water usage profile? If so, is there any change between winter and summer draw profile? Thanks in advanced.

Yes. If you enter an "Average daily hot water usage" value of 500 kg/day, SAM multiplies each hourly value of the hourly hot water draw profile by 500 / 24 = 20.833.

You can verify this on the Results page after running a simulation by displaying the hot water draw variable on the Data Tables tab and comparing it to the data on the Solar Water Heating input page when you click Edit array under "Hot Water Draw".
