Azimuth Tracking was created by Paul Gilman
Is there any limitation to NREL SAM for azimuth 1 axis tracking and latitudes less than 23 degrees where the azimuth angle may be less than 90 degrees at solar noon?

SAM's flat plate PV model includes an "azimuth axis" tracking option where the array's angle from horizontal is fixed, and the array rotates in a horizontal plane to track the daily movement of the sun. (Here's an animation on YouTube of one example of azimuth axis tracking.)

You can use azimuth tracking in SAM with a weather file for any location. SAM does not prevent you from using azimuth tracking for a location with a latitude less than 23 degrees or any other value.

SAM reports the array's azimuth angle and tilt angle in the hourly results for each subarray so that you can explore how it is modeling the tracking system.

Best regards,
Paul.
