parabolic trough collectors question was created by matin kargari
Hi, i want to know that can SAM software model the parabolic trough collectors alone, i mean without power cycle modeling, like domestic hot water application ...
if it is possible in this software, i will be really thankful if anybody can help me trough it.
with all respect

Hi Matin,
You can use SAM's "Trough IPH" model to model a field of parabolic trough solar collectors for a process heat application. These systems operate at temperatures much higher than required for domestic hot water.
See the videos listed under "Industrial Process Heat" on the SAM website for more information: sam.nrel.gov/concentrating-solar-power/csp-videos.html
Best regards,
Paul.
