Hi Segolame,
We are wating for updates to the NREL National Solar Radiation Database for the region covered by the Metosat-8 (IODC) satellite that will add additional years to locations in Europe and Africa. When that data is available from the NSRDB, it should also be available in SAM.
nsrdb.nrel.gov
Best regards,
Paul.

Hello,
I've been trying to download the NSRDB Data for Medley Florida but SAM is unable to do so, even when I try to use the lat and long coordinates. Copy of the message from the log are below:
NSRDB Download Thu Mar 7 15:55:23 2024
==========================================================
Requested location(s): [ Type a location name, street address, or lat,lon in decimal degrees ]
Location 1 of 1: "Type a location name, street address, or lat,lon in decimal degrees"
Invalid location name:
Type a location name, street address, or lat,lon in decimal degrees
Geocoding failed: Could not connect to service or failed to recognize "Type a location name, street address, or lat,lon in decimal degrees"
NSRDB Download Thu Mar 7 16:00:47 2024
==========================================================
Requested location(s): [ 25.85,-80.34 ]
Location 1 of 1: "25.85,-80.34"
"25.85,-80.34" appears to be a valid lat/lon pair in Decimal Degrees.
Geocoding failed: Could not connect to service or failed to recognize "25.85,-80.34"
Is there a reason I'm unable to get this data even though it is available on the NSRDB?
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Please try updating SAM 2023.12.17 to Revision 1 -- we fixed some problems with weather file downloads in this update (released only hours ago).
Otherwise, that error might indicate that security software is blocking SAM's access to the NREL APIs it uses for the downloads.
Please let me know if you continue to have trouble.
Best regards,
Paul.

I am trying to download the weather profile for 2023. Have they been made available yet? And when will 2024 be available?

Ron

Hi Ron,
Weather data for 2023 is not yet available from the NSRDB. Please use their contact form to ask about the NSRDB release schedule: nsrdb.nrel.gov/contact-us .
Best regards,
Paul.
