user defined new HTF physical properties was created by OAB
Hi,
I'm running the physical parabolic trough model using 'user defined' HTF data for a new nano-fluid. However, I get negative net electrical energy production. knowing that when I run the same project with predefined HTF data from the proposed list, I get positive results. In the same perspective, I have noticed that when I use the 'user defined' HTF data, the cycle design HTF mass flow rate is not defined (NaN kg/s) and I don't know how to introduced it. Please, can you help?
Best regards

Hi Oussama,
I suspect that the HTF you are modeling has parameters outside the bounds of values SAM is expecting.
The equation for the Cycle Design HTF Mass Flow rate on the Power Cycle page is given in the Help topic for that page: samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/troughphysical_power_cycle.htm . The NaN value could be caused by a divide-by-zero error.
Best regards,
Paul.
