% Contingency (Balance of System Advanced Inputs)

Recently, I am working a wind residential model. In the results, the capital cost is too high and I checked that default % contingency is responsible about this effect (See picture).


¿Is it logical a default percent contingency of millions in order?

Hi Ivan,

That's a bug in the default input values for the Wind / Residential configuration.

The balance of system cost models (land-based and off-shore) are designed for large scale wind projects and are not appropriate for use with SAM's Residential or Commercial financial models. For these models, you should set value of the balanced of system cost input yourself in the line item under "Capital Costs."
