The levelized cost of heat of power tower molten salt type of CSP was created by Abdullah5347
Hello Dear,
I hope my email finds you well.
I am a postgraduate student, and my research totally relies on SAM, and I have a technical question about SAM.
I am now working on SAM to integrate a system with the “Power tower molten salt model on SAM” I am
taking heat energy from this model to provide the system with the
required heat energy.
I can just use the tower type of concentrated solar power, I cannot use any model else.
My question is about the finical part, the LCOE includes the power block cycle cost, I mean the turbine cycle.
my question is that kindly could you tell me How I can get the LCOH of the tower simulation if I just take heat energy
from it without any electricity cycle?
King regards,
Abdullah Alrwili

Hi Abdullah Alrwili,
Please see the description of SAM's calculation of the LCOE in Help: samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/mtf_lcoe.htm .
You could calculate the LCOH outside of SAM by modifying the equation to use the heat energy in the denominator instead of the electric energy. You may also need to adjust the cost assumptions depending on how you define LCOH. You can export the annual energy and cost values from the Cash Flow or Data Tables tab on the Results page.
Best regards,
Paul.
