Parabolic Trough: Stow and deploy angle was created by Esteban
I have created a CSP physical parabolic trough and then I have changed the Stow Angle in Solar Field from 170 degrees to 175 or 179 degrees, and the thermal energy decreases, just the opposite of what it’s expected.
Also I have checked the effect in other model, where I have modified the deploy angle from 10 degrees to 5 or 1 degree, with reduction in energy too.
Why could it be this reduction in the thermal energy absorbed?

Hello,
Would you mind replying with a copy of your .zsam file attached? I tried the scenario you describe using the default physical trough case, and found that the system's electrical output over the year increases when I change the stow angle from the default 170 degrees to 175 degrees.
Best regards,
Paul.
