I would like to know if it is possible to SAM calculate shading losses caused by objects on the horizon (far away objects) using 3D shade calculator.
And yet, the input values of shading on "Shade Loss Tables" can be summed up, as like "value shading of nearby objects + value shading of far away objects"
The 3D Shade Calculator is designed to calculate the size of shadows on the active surface from nearby objects. It does not have information about hills or mountains on the horizon that might affect the solar resource when the sun is low on the horizon.
The 3D Shade Calculator calculates a shade loss percentage for each time step and populates the time series shade loss table. It is possible to edit that data.
