SAM 2021.12.02 r2 Beta was created by pgilman
Hi all,

We have released a Beta version of the second update (r2) to SAM2021.12.02 to give you an opportunity to test fixes to a few problems. There are still some remaining issues that we will fix before releasing the update in mid-May.

This Beta version will install as Version 2022.4.21. Please install the Beta version in a different folder than the current version so you can continue to use both versions. You can install multiple versions of SAM on your computer and run them simultaneously to make comparisons between versions. Keep in mind that this version is for testing, so it may not work properly and some documentation of new features may be incomplete.

The Beta version will stop working on April 21, 2023. Please remove it when you are finished testing it.

SAM is now officially certified with Microsoft and Apple, so the installation process should go more smoothly without messages about the software being from an unknown publisher.

Windows: SAM 2022.5.5 Beta for Windows (.exe)

Mac:  SAM 2022.5.5 Beta for Mac (.pkg) This is now an installation package instead of a disk image, so just double-click the package to install it.

The main issues this Beta version fixes include:
  • Problems with custom HTF for CSP models.
  • Parabolic trough freeze protection bug.
  • Parabolic trough loop configuration bug.
  • REopt API call for behind-the-meter PV-battery configurations.
  • Fix "Value of RE macro".
  • Fix issue with PV daily lifetime degradation.
  • Fix and improve battery dispatch algorithms.
For a complete list of issues we have fixed so far for the update, see the list of SAM and SSC closed pull requests.

Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback on this Beta version.

Best regards,
Paul.
