Molten salt power tower: Receiver design thermal power

Hello,

I am simulating a tower thermal plant. I have configured the receiver to obtain a certain “Receiver design thermal power”. However, during the annual operation the receiver reach a higher level of energy. Why the receiver design thermal power is exceed? How could I configure the maximum level of energy?

Dear Esteban,

If the "Max receiver operation fraction" input on the Tower and Receiver page is greater than 1, SAM will allow the receiver's thermal power output to exceed the design point.
