How to create srw files?

I want to create an srw file to model small scale wind turbines in Australia. I have all the necessary weather data but do not know how to make the srw file. Note that I have tried editing one of SAM's existing srw files in MS Excel but SAM is unable to read this edited file.

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of the SAM help file. I have followed it exactly and am confident that it is set out right. The problem has to do with the file type. No matter what file type I save it as (comma delimited, tab delimited etc), SAM cannot read it. Could you please confirm what file type should be used.

The SRW file should be comma-delimited, and use the extension .srw.

Sir, is it possible to avail the wind resource data files in .srw format for Indian localities?

Hello,

I am not aware of a source of wind data in the SRW format for India. If you find data from another source, you can easily put it into the SRW format. It is a basic CSV format that is described in SAM's Help system.
