Annual POA Units was created by SolarPerformance
Hello,

When I model a PV plant in SAM (PV only), the units I get for the POA is kWh/yr, but for GHI it is Wh/m2/yr, which I believe to be the correct units for irradiance. I think it is more useful for POA and GHI to be have the same units

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the feedback.

SAM reports the time series POA irradiance values in W/m2. You can export that data to a spreadsheet to calculate annual totals in Wh/m2/year.

Also, keep in mind that the POA data is calculated from the DNI and DHI in the weather file rather than the GHI data unless you change the Weather File Irradiance Data option under "Albedo - Sky Diffuse Model - Irradiance Data (Advanced)" at the bottom of the Location and Resource page.

Best regards,
Paul.
