Calculated string Isc Less than Nameplate was created by Fallon Kider
HI,
We ran the SAM model for a site in California. The calculated max string Isc ended up being less than the module nameplate. I know the NEC allows this to be possible, but I thought that since this was in California (between LA and Anaheim) it would be very warm and therefore the Isc would increase.
Can anyone shed a little light onto the calculation? Or anything we should check besides the obvious confirm module specs, location?

Hi Fallon,
The Photovoltaic Reference Manual available from sam.nrel.gov/photovoltaic/pv-publications.html describes how SAM calculates the array operating voltage and power values from the module design (nameplate) parameters and weather data.
Best regards,
Paul.
