Hi Paul,

how to calculate the dumped energy of solar field in IPH trough model? field thermal power leaving in HTF/ field fraction of focused SCAs in every hour, then sum it?

Hi Joey,

That approach would give you a reasonable estimate.

Another approach would be to model the system with no storage and solar multiple of 1 to determine the field output with little or no defocusing for comparison.
