I'm trying to quantify our value proposition for a new blade design:

- improved efficiency
- reduced O&M
- lower capex (blade component cost as well as smaller towers and platforms)

What's the best way to approach this effort to quantify the economics of these kinds of improvements using SAM?

Hi Claudia,

SAM models a wind projects that consist of a single wind turbine or more than one turbine in a wind farm. The model requires a turbine power curve as input along with inputs for installation and operating costs. In order to evaluate the impact of different blade designs on the economics of a wind project, you would need to provide the following inputs for each different design:

Turbine power curve
O&M cost
Capital cost

Best regards,
Paul.
