CSP thermal storage of 24 hours! was created by Mominah Ahmad
Hi Paul,
I was trying to optimize TES for a solar tower based concentrated solar power plant at a location with average annual DNI of around 4.5 kWh/m2/day. I varied the TES to as much as 24 hours and was surprised to see the maximum capacity factor observed at this TES. I wanted to confirm if this is possible in real-world scenario since in my view HTF bypassing the direct loop would cause more thermal losses and hence the capacity factor should decrease.
Regards,
Mominah Ahmad

Hi Mominah Ahmad,
You can look at the "TES thermal losses output" on the Data Tables, Time Series, Heat Map or one of the other tabs on the Results page to see if the heat losses are what you expect.
Best regards,
Paul.
