Customizing a wind turbine was created by zhivin
Hello,
I'm trying to simulate a wind turbine that is not in SAM DB.
The turbine is designed for low wind speeds.
Cut in speed 3 m/s, cut out 18 m/s.
The standard wind turbine model in SAM allows me to change some of the parameters but not the power curve.
The power curve stays roughly the same (regarding wind speed for reaching saturation power).
I need to change the power curve in order to have the nominal power of the turbine starting at 5 m/s instead of 9-10 m/s.
How can I do it?
Thank you.

Hi Lev,
You could add a custom turbine to SAM's library by modifying the "Wind Turbines.csv" file in your SAM installation folder .
Different versions of SAM read the library file from their own installation folder, so when you install a new or different version of SAM, you will have to modify the file for each version.
Best regards,
Paul.
