SAM 2012.11.30 and the January 2013 versions of SAM are the last versions that will run with Windows XP. Microsoft plans to stop providing updates for Windows XP in 2014, and we are switching to a new software development environment that does not support Windows XP.

Windows XP and SAM's Help System:

For the Windows version of SAM, the Help system uses Internet Explorer to display the Help files, regardless of your computer's default browser. That means that even if you use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or another browser as your default browser, SAM uses Internet Explorer to display Help. The Help system uses HTML5 elements, so requires an HTML5-compliant version of Internet Explorer.

If you are running Windows XP and have not updated your version of Internet Explorer to a an HTML5-compliant version, SAM's help system will not display correctly on your computer. Internet Explorer 6 does not display the Help system at all.

Here are your options:

Update your version of Internet Explorer to an HTML5-compliant version. (I tested Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8, and it seemed to display the Help system correctly.)
    Use the copy of the
Help system on the SAM Website . The link is also on the Learning Page .
Use your favorite browser to open the files from the SAM installation folder. By default, the Help files are in the following folder:
Code:
C:\SAM12.11.30\exelib\help\html
.

Best regards,
Paul.
