Bifacial Modules and Orientation was created by Roberta
Hello to everyone,
I am starting using SAM, and I need it to simulate some bifacial modules.
I tried to compare the results of two different simulations, in both I putted a bifaciality of 1, but in the first the azimuth was equal to 90 (EAST), in the second 270 (WEST).
I think that is a bit strange, I expected the same result, what do you think?  What can it depend on?
Thank you in advance

Hi Roberta,

I would expect an array oriented facing west to generated a different amount of electricity than an array facing east because the solar resource is likely to be different in the early morning than in the late evening.

You can use the "irradiance from weather file" and "POA front-side" and "POA rear-side" outputs on the Data Tables or Time Series tabs of the results page to investigate this further.

Best regards,
Paul.
