hi, i'm a mechanical engineering student and i'm writing a three-year degree thesis on parabolic trough systems. I used the sam softwere to calculate the lcoe as the solar multiple and the thermal storage vary, but I encountered some difficulties. In particular, I wonder why in the financial parameters section the value of the capital cost does not increase in proportion to the solar multiple which represents an oversizing of the solar field. I leave attached the file I'm working on hoping you can help me

Hi Fabio,

Only costs given in units of $/kW or as a percentage of the installed cost will scale with the system's nameplate capacity. For any other costs or parameters that are given as fixed dollar amounts, you will have to make adjustments in your parametric study. Note that some financing costs may not vary with system size.
