After installing SAM on Windows 10, 64 bit and launching it from the first time, when I select New Project I get a screen that looks like the attachment. Please, how do I fix this?

Hi Ed,

Thank you for letting us know about this. Does the Welcome page (the first thing you see when SAM starts) look normal? Also, is this SAM 2020.11.29 (the latest version) or a legacy version?

Hi Paul,
Thank you for responding. First, I need to explain that I have a condition
known as corneal edema, which makes low contrast screens hard to see. To
compensate for this I use the High Contrast option built in to Windows 10. So
if I turn that option off, then the correct menu appears. Regarding your
question, the first screen is normal but the problem reappeared when I had to
make a similar menu selection.So I decided since I have a secondary computer, that only a few applications are installed on, with highcontrast turned off and install SAM on that computer. My secondary computer is
nearly the same as my primary computer. Both are Windows 10, 64 bit. So when I
installed SAM on the secondary computer I got the attached error messages when
I tried to run it. SAM did not launch after I clicked through the OKs on those messages, and no reinstalling didn’t help. So please help me get SAM
running on that computer.

Ed,

Thank you for reporting the high contrast issue using SAM 2021.11.29 on Windows 10 when selecting the technology and financial configuration (see the first image attached for reference).

If you temporarily switch high contrast off, you may select the technology and financial market that you desire (see the second image attached).

After the configuration has been selected, then you can switch high contrast back on and use SAM (see the third image attached).


As far as the DLL issue you reported on your secondary computer, please run the VC_redist.x64.exe file in the c:\SAM\2021.11.29\runtime\bin folder or from wherever you installed SAM (see the fourth image attached).
