Different SAM versions creating different generation profiles despite all

Hi!
I have recently updated my SAM from 2017.9.5 to 2020.11.29. I have set up the PV_fixed model with the EXACT same inputs in both of the projects, with more or less than exact same .lk script (despite some syntax updates). However, when I run the script to calculate the AC capacity factor and generation profiles, the old version of SAM 2017.9.5 gives me a higher AC capacity (sometimes 5% higher!) and generation output than the new 2020.11.29 version. I was wondering if something changed between updates which means I should expect this difference between versions despite all other conditions being the same?

Hi Joel,

There have been three new versions since SAM 2017.9.5, so I would expect there to be some differences between the PV models in those versions. You can review the release notes to see what improvements have been made between versions:

nrel.github.io/SAM/doc/releasenotes.html

If you have a file you would like to share that shows this difference between versions, please post it and I will investigate.
