Power block Library Empirical model was created by Javier Rodriguez
Dear SAM Users,
Let me introduce myself. I am Javier Rodríguez, researcher of the Polytechnical Univerisity of Madrid (Spain). I am working on a project to improve the efficiency of installing Parabolic Trough Collectors Power Plants.
I am simulating the power plant by SAM (empirical model), but I need additional information about the Power Cycles of the Library. I would like to find the following inputs:
Your consideration and help will be very much appreciated.
Best Regards

- Power cycle diagram
- Temperature, pressure and mass flow rate of the representative streams.
Your consideration and help will be very much appreciated.

Hi Javier,
SAM's Empirical Trough model is based on empirical data from an old trough system design from the 1980s and 19902 used for the SEGS projects in the Southwest United States. More information about the model is available in Price (2003) and in the references for that paper.
Best regards,
Paul.
