SoC limits for Lead Acid Custom Battery was created by BarbaraLemes
Hi,
I'm having trouble to simulate a PV system with a lead-acid custom battery in this current version of SAM (SAM 2020.2.29 Revision 3). When I choose an SoC between 85-100%, SAM doesn't respect that, using more than just 15% of the battery. This was not happening before on version 2020.2.29 Revision 2.
Could you help me with this? How can I simulate it properly? Thank you.

Hi Bárbara,
You may want to install the latest version of SAM, SAM 2020.11.29, which includes several updates to the battery model.
Batteries are typically allowed to discharge to around 15-20% of their total capacity, and, depending on the battery chemistry, up to 90-100%. SAM is designed to operate the battery in that way, so using the minimum and maximum SOC inputs to force the model to operate in a narrower range may not work.
If you continue having trouble, please attach a copy of your .sam file so I can investigate.
Best regards,
Paul.
