Electricity Saved from Solar Water Heater was created by AlexGee
Hi There
I am trying to simulate a solar water heater and I am needing to see the electricity saved by the installation of the system. My system has a timer that only allows the system to draw from the grid for a specific time slot during the day.
How do I tell the software that it can only provide grid power for those timeslots.
I am also not sure how to find the amount of electricity saved due to the system.
Any advise would be great
Many Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,
It is not possible to limit the grid power for the Solar Water Heating model.
You can calculate the electricity saved by the solar water heating system using the following equation:
Q Saved = Q Auxiliary Only - Q Auxiliary - P Pump
You can find those variables on the Data Tables tab and export them to CSV to make the calculations in a spreadsheet program.
Best regards,
Paul.
