Calculate DC cable length

Hi, I am interested in comparing the length of DC cable required for a Fixed Tilt vs Single Axis Tracker. Does SAM calculate this based on the System Design? Is it factored in during the cost calculation? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Deepika,

SAM does not calculate wiring or cable lengths. To account for wiring losses in your analysis of a photovoltaic system, you would need to calculate an estimate of total wiring losses as a percentage of the total annual output of the system, and provide those as inputs on the Losses page.
