Specify different HFT for thermal storage was created by Harry_Ha
Hi, there
I am modeling industrious process heating system using parabolic trough. The solar system uses Therminol VP1 as the HTF. I selected thermal storage of 10 hours in SAM model and I would like the thermal tank to use molten salt as the heat transfer fluid due to high density and heat capacity of salt. However, SAM model automatically select the Therminol VP1 as the HTF for thermal tank and the fluid density is not ALLOWED to change. Is there a way to specify thermal tank to use different HTF as contrast to solar system?
Thank you!
Harry

Hi Harry,
SAM's parabolic trough model for industrial process heat does not allow for a storage medium that is different from the solar field heat transfer fluid.
Best regards,
Paul.
