Hi I have been unable to get wind resource file from the NREL tool kit since Friday. Is this because of the update to the Wind toolkit API by NREL?

Hi Olunkule,
The WIND Toolkit downloads should be working now. Please be sure that you are using a location that is within the area covered by the Toolkit, which is illustrated in the map at the Wind Prospector website .
