A follow up on our conversation about 2 years ago regarding SAM's Off Grid capabilities. At the time you mention SAM is expected to add off grid modeling capabilities in the form of mini-grid or microgrid applications. Any updates or developments? or future plans..

Hi Omar,

We improved SAM's grid outage feature in SAM 2021.12.02. You can read about how that works in the Grid Outage topic of Help: samrepo.nrelcloud.org/help/grid_outage.htm .

SAM is still mainly a model for grid-connected systems, but the grid outage features make it easier to approximate an off-grid system.

The Grid Outage page is available for behind-the-meter battery systems. For example, the PV-Battery / Commercial configuration.
