SAM allows shading data to be supplied via a Solar Pathfinder month-by-hour file. Is the format of this file specified anywhere? ie, is it possible to manually create one of these files from a sunpath diagram without having the Solar Pathfinder software?

The "Import shading data from external tools" buttons read data from a file created by PVsyst, SunEye, or SolarPathfinder software and enable the appropriate input table and populate the table with data from the file.

If you have data from a sunpath diagram, you should be able to enter it the solar azimuth-by-altitude beam irradiance shading loss table:

Best regards,
