Entering Green Button Data was created by NickD88
Hello,
I'm designing a battery backup system, and I'm having alot of difficulty with the energy loads section.
Specifically when I try to import data.
I took PG&E's green button data and edited it to match the standards for your program (A tedious and annoying process given that PG&E already has a specific format for their data). Reduced everything to 1 column, left one space at the top of the page, and took out daylight savings time days.
I saved the data and when I attempt to upload i get an error saying i only have 360 entries out of 8600 or whatever the number is.
I think this is because the system I'm designing for is a retrofit with an existing solar array. It performs well so many days the energy usage is negative.
What's causing this error? I've attached my interval data below.
Is this an issue with the first date matching up?

Hi Nicholas,
There are two issues with your file:
1. The first row should be a header. SAM ignores the first row but expects the file to have one extra row, so for hourly data there would be 8761 rows including the header.
2. There are negative load values, which is causing the message about there only being 364 valid values. I'm not sure how it's coming up with that number, but removing negative values should fix the problem.
Also, if do you have a sample Green Button data file that you could share? I tried to find a sample file on their website but could not find it. We may be able to write a macro for SAM to convert the data.
Best regards,
Paul.

Thanks for the fast reply Paul.
It seems like the most consequential error is the first line not having an extra space.
I added that on and everything worked like a charm! The data uploaded instantly and now we're able to see the usage on the site.
I modified our file to take out personal information, but I've attached it to this reply for your future use.
