Asking questions about simulations for an energy base was created by xyz
Hi,
As a phd student, nowadays, in my study, I need to build somemodels for an energy base (to design this energy base), in which thereare wind power, solar PV, coal-fired power plants, battery energy storage
system, thermal energy storage system, hydrogen production system and fuel
cells.
In SAM, I can find components of wind power, PV, thermal energystorage (in CSP), battery (in PV) and fuel cells (in beta version). However,
there are no components for coal-fired power plant, or hydrogen production
devices. What’s more, the simulations are independent to each other.
So, would you please let me know how to build modelsfor the whole energy base in SAM? That would be great if you can give me some
examples, then I can learn from your examples.
Thank you very much and have a nice day!
Sincerely,
xyz

Hello,
If you are modeling a regional electric power system, you can use SAM to generate production profiles for different kinds of systems in different parts of the system, and then use those as input to the system model.
This list of different kinds of models might give you some insight into how to approach your modeling problem:

Best regards,
Paul.
