Issue with battery charging in peak-shaving mode was created by nko
Hi Paul,
I was running some simple simulation :
As you can see in the plot below, the battery correctly shaves the grid power and discharges to 12%. After the even, the battery is recharged (red square) back to 100%. Although the battery power seems correct, the grid power stays null during the whole phase. It is the same for the "Bill load".
It seems then that the battery is charged from nowhere and this energy is not accounted in the energy bill. Could you confirm that?
You will find attached the .sam file of the project.
Best,
Nelson
I was running some simple simulation :
- Generic/Residential model
- With SAM 2020.1.17
- Battery in peak-shaving mode (allowed to charge from the grid)
- No local electricity production (power plant losses at 100%)

Hi Paul,
I just downloaded and tested the latest version of SAM (2020.2.29) and it seems that this problem has been solved. Could you confirm that?
Best regards,
Nelson
