Error Msg. 1 inverter? was created by Sunlight
Hi Paul,
This error: exec fail(pvsamv1): At this time, only one multiple-MPPT-input inverter may be modeled per system. See help for
details.

I am modeling a system with 20 inverters and 42,942 solar panels. Have I exceeded the design limits of SAM? Is there any way around this?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,

SAM's multiple-MPPT input feature is intended to model residential rooftops sytems with one inverter and subarrays on parts of the roof that have different orientations.

For large systems, SAM assumes that the inverters have a single MPPT input. For your system, set the number of MPPT inputs on the Inverter page to 1, and then set the number of inverters on the System Design page to 20, and set the number of modules per string and strings in parallel as appropriate.

Best regards,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Is there a plan and, if so, an expected timeline for when we can expect the multiple-MPPT feature for larger scale systems? It is a real shame to not have this modelling capability for large systems.

Best regards,

Rashid

Hi Rashid,

This is on our Wish list, but we do not yet have support for this work:

github.com/NREL/SAM/issues/583

I added a link to this conversation to help us justify this effort.

Best regards,
Paul.
