Biomass combustion was created by HakSoo
Dear National Renewable Energy Laboratory,

I want to inquire about a biomass combustion power system of your SAM model.
In the combustion system section of Plant Sepcs, a fluidized-bed combustor (FBC) is one of options.
I have the following questions regarding the combustion systems.
  • What type of fluidized-bed does the FBC model?
  • Can the FBC of the SAM model be used to analyze either bubbling or circulating fluidized-bed?
Best regards,

HakSoo

Hi HakSoo,

Please see sam.nrel.gov/biomass for information about SAM's Biomass Power model.

The furnace model does not distinguish between different types of fluidized beds as described in Section 3.1.2 of " Technical Manual for the SAM Biomass Power Generation Model".

Best regards,
Paul.
