Incentives - net-metering was created by giovanidavi
Hi there,
In order to estimate financial parameters of a PV system project, such as payback time of an investment, LCOE and IRR, I would like to consider a net-metering system (Brazilian net-metering system). In the Brazilian net-metering system, the active power injected into the grid offsets the active power consumption from the grid, admitting the consumer unit to have credits in amount of active energy (kWh). The amount to be billed is the positive difference between the active energy consumed and the active energy injected into the grid, considering energy credits from previous months. Energy surpluses can be compensated during a 60-month period. Is it possible to evaluate this kind of incentive in SAM?
Thank you for the attention.

Hi Giovani,
SAM can model this type of net metering arrangement, except that it assumes energy surpluses are compensated on a 12-month basis.
On the Electricity Rates page, choose the appropriate Metering and Billing option. See the Help topic for detailed descriptions of the different options.
Best regards,
Paul.
