Annual Revenue from kWh wholesale back to grid (lifetime analysis) was created by hhundt
Hi,
Doing some modeling in a non-net metering situation which means we would be getting wholesale prices (three different periods) for any kWh we are sending back to the grid. Is there a specific line item that would show this in the results?
The rate we are using is Wisconsin Power & Light Co (Alliant Energy), Commercial Time-of-Use Cg-2 TOD (Three Phase). It may be possible that we are also implementing the rate incorrectly within SAM but we loaded the rate from the database and didn't touch the autofills from the library. We should be seeing a somewhat large value as we are looking at oversizing scenarios as well.
Thanks!

Hello,
It looks like you are on the right track. You might want to compare the data on SAM's Electricity Rates page to the rate sheet from the utility to make sure the downloaded data is consistent with the rate sheet. You should see a link to the rate sheet when you expand the Description and Availability panel on the Electricity Rates page. SAM downloads the rate data from the Utility Rate Database -- if you find any problems with the data, you can contact the URDB team on that website.
As for the non-net metering scenario, be sure to choose the option that best matches the metering arrangement under Metering and Billling. Click the Help button or press the F1 key to see descriptions in SAM's Help system.
For results, you may want to use the Data Tables tab on the Results page to explore the electricity bill calculations. The "Monthly Data" category shows monthly totals for energy charge, demand charge, and fixed charge components of the bill, and the "Electricity Rate Data by Tier and Period" and "Electricity Demand Data by Period" shows the totals by TOU period and tiers, as applicable.
Best regards,
Paul.
