Loop Thermal Energy Output (MWht) was created by sidom
Hi Paul,
I am modeling a CSP plant and I want to obtain the Loop Thermal Energy in Kwatts. From the Hourly Data I can take some information like:
Solar Field Thermal Output (MWh), Thermal Energy Absorber(MWh) or Thermal Energy to P.B. (MWh).
¿Which is the most accurate parameter to obtain the loop thermal Energy (dividing this parameter between the number of loops)?
¿Which losses are taken into consideration in between each parameter?
Thanks in advance

I recommend reading the first few sections of Chapter 2 "Solar Field" of the physical trough reference manual (see the link on the
Performance Models
page) to understand how SAM calculates the solar field energy balance.
What do you mean by "loop thermal energy?" Do you mean the solar energy absorbed by a single loop?
Best regards,
Paul.

Yes, that's what I am trying to obtain, Thermal Energy absorbed by each loop.
Thanks and regards

I think it would be reasonable to approximate the thermal energy absorbed by each loop by dividing the hourly result variable "Thermal energy absorbed (MWh), hourly" by the number of loops in the field.

Paul.
