I'm trying to compare a 100kW flat plate fixed array to a 100kW HCPV tracked array and I'm not certain how the model handles this. A 100kW flat plate fixed array has an annual net energy output of 184,000 kWh while a 100kW HCPV sized array only has an output of 188,000 kWh, both in the Las Vega, NV region. If the HCPV cells are ~30% efficient and the flat panel silicon is ~15% efficient, why are these calculated numbers so close to each other, especially since the HCPV is tracking.
