Problems with simulation 50MW was created by sebastian
Hi,
I am having a very extrange simulation error with SAM which I don´t understand. I have been running my simulation for a CSP Trough Physical IPP with a plant with 55 MWe of design gross output without any problem, but I have recently changed the potency to 50 MWe of design gross output with 0.9 conversion factor and i constantly get a simulation error without explanation.
What could be the reason? Does SAM work with nameplate potencies of design net output under 45MWe?? Otherwise I dont get it, as it is the unique variable I am changing!
Thanks a lot.
Best Regards.

Hello,
SAM does not limit the size of system that it can model. However, there are some configurations that will cause simulations to fail.
Could you attach a copy of your file to a reply for me to help troubleshoot?
Best regards,
Paul.

Thanks Paul,
I have attached my SAM file to the comment. I think the problems comes whit the parametric variable simulation, but I am not quite sure.
Best Regards.

Thank you for sending the file.
The combination of low freeze protection energy (50 degree C in your file, compared to the 150 degree C default value) and small solar multiple (SM=1.5) seems to be causing the simulation to fail. If you either remove the small solar multiple values from the parametric analysis, or increase the freeze protection temperature, you should be able to run through all of the solar multiple values in the parametric analysis without generating an error.
Best regards,
Paul.
