Can SAM run second or minute based insolation data? was created by aaronburdick
I have a dataset of point source irradiance data that I would like to estimate PV output from on very short timescales (1 sec, 1 min). Is this possible with the SAM model and, if so, how would I import this irradiance data and set the model to give me 1 sec or 1 min PV output data?
I would like to run the model in this way for multiple systems sized 50 kW to 1 MW.
Thanks!

SAM 2012.5.11 only supports subhourly simulations for the physical parabolic trough model. We are working on allowing subhourly simulations for the PV model now and will include it in a future version.
Note that SAM accounts for temperature effects on PV cell performance, and requires ambient temperature and wind speed data in addition to the solar radiation data to do so.
Best regards,
Paul.
