Are there any pitfalls to using the SNODAS data and applying the daily value for each hour?

Hi,
Absent any other data, daily snow depth data will provide some insight into the effect of snow on PV production. However, that approach might overestimate the effect of snow coverage. For example, if the daily data represents a night-time snow fall that lasted a few hours followed a clear sunny day with warmer temperatures, the effect of snow melt would not be captured.
Best regards,
Paul.
