Wondering what NREL thought of the EPRI Storagevet.com modeling tool? Comparable to SAM? Better/worse? Pros/cons?
Thanks.
    Thanks.

        Dear Randy,
SAM's focus is on analyzing a specific project from the project owner's perspective. It defines the value of battery storage based on its ability to reduce an electricity customer's electricity bill by reducing demand charges or, in some cases by shifting the system's output from the daytime to nighttime. It can also be used to explore storage in a PPA project where the value of the system depends on revenue from electricity sales.
My quick look at the EPRI tool suggests that it focuses more on grid services from the utility's perspective with optimization tools to help identify the best physical locations for storage facilities.
Best regards,
Paul.
