Hi,

Does the latest version of SAM (2017.9.5) model the snow loss for single horizontal axis tracking system?

If so does the model account for the changing tracking angle through the day and what sliding coefficient does it use?

I got the following error message when trying to model snow loss for a single horizontal axis tracking project.

"The snow model is designed to work for PV arrays with a tilt angle between 10 and 45 degrees, but will generate results for tilt angles outside this range. The system you are modeling includes a subarray tilt angle of 0 degrees."

Thank you,

Van Nguyen

Dear Van,

Thank you for pointing out that issue. We are investigating, and will fix that for the next release, due out in the next few weeks.

Best regards,
Paul.

Dear Van,

The simulation notice is misleading, but does not affect simulation results. We will remove the notice for one-axis tracking, but for your work now, you can just ignore it.

Best regards,
Paul.
