utility rate for excess generation was created by randy
I have a scenario where the PV array intends to generate power in excess of the building load. Can SAM economics accommodate two rate schedules: 1) the avoided cost of paying the utility rate (used by the customer), and 2) the value paid to the customer for the excess generation (this will be less than the utility rate)

Dear Randy,
SAM assumes that the with and without system scenarios use the same rate structure. For cases where the two rates are different (sometimes called "rate switching"), you can use the "Value of RE System" macro: Click Macros under the Simulate button, and click the macro's name in the list, and then follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Paul.
