solar hot water system

Hi Support people,

Hope you're doing great. I wanted to know in the solar hot water system in SAM is it possible to project the performance after the first year. I would like to do a analysis for 5 years including the degradation process. Is it possible for analysing after first year?

Dear Mavadi,

SAM's solar water heating model runs an hourly (or subhourly) simulation for a single year to calculate the annual electricity saved by the system. You can apply an annual degradation rate to that amount to account for degradation in the cash flow model, but the performance model itself does not account for degradation.
