Modelling Cell Optimizers

Is there a way to model Maxim cell optimizers in SAM? Thank you!

Hello,

SAM does not explicitly model cell optimizers and other electronic power optimizers in the system. However, you can choose inputs to account for a system that uses them. For example, for this type of optimizer:

• If you are modeling self (row-to-row) shading, choose the linear option.
• If you are modeling external shading or using the 3D Shade Calculator, do not enable the partial shading model.
• Account for any expected electrical losses from the optmiizers themselves using the DC power optimizer loss on the Losses page, and set the module mismatch loss to zero.
