Dear Paul
The simulation output with SAM (version: 2016.3.14) is:
Installed cost for 20 and 100 MW Parabolic Trough Power Plants with 6 hours
thermal storage and solar multiple of 2 is as follow:
20 MW : 7210 $/kW
100 MW : 7253 $/kW
But as usual, the installed cost is decreased with increasing the power plant
capacity.
How this trend could be observed in the output of SAM simulations?
Regards

Hello,
The installation costs in SAM are inputs to the model that you specify on the System Costs page. We have provided default costs based on the cost studies listed on the System Cost Data page of this website, but those default costs are intended to help you get started using the software. You should do your own cost analysis for the inputs you choose for your SAM inputs.
The $/kW cost shown at the bottom of the System Costs page is not a simulation output. It is simply the sum of the direct and indirect capital costs that you provide, so you should be able to confirm those values using a calculator.
Best regards,
Paul.
