Energy Storage:

I am interested in DIY alternative battery chemistry. Have any of you experimented with applying saltwater battery chemistry to a significantly larger battery container such as a concrete tank in the ground. Septic tanks are cost effective, if appropriately coated to contain the liquid. One of the larger cost concerns I have is storing energy during peak sunlight hours to use at other times. I've lucked into acquiring over 2450 216w 28.9vdc Sharp ND216U1F solar modules with fifteen 30kW inverters. But when I look at the cost of purchasing commonly used batteries to store that energy for the cloudy days, and night use, it is prohibitively expensive. The system is close to 482kW, or 2317 amps at 208vac given the 93% efficiency of the inverters.
